Wedding Cakes Leeds

Your free design consultation is the ideal opportunity to sample some of the cake flavours you are interested in over a cup of tea or coffee! It’s all very friendly and informal, and you’re under no obligation. We think it’s important to know exactly what you’re getting inside the wedding cake, as well as how it looks.

We will then take as much detail as possible from you about your special day. Individual style, type of venue, likes/dislikes, colours, themes, and any ideas you have for your wedding cake. It’s a good idea to bring any pictures, colour swatches and any other bits and pieces you may have, so that the design of the wedding cake will really compliment the theme of your day.

There are an absolute myriad of different types of wedding cake these days, pretty vintage style, intricately iced, decadent belgian chocolate, simply stacked, cupcake wedding cakes, miniature cakes. Wedding cakes adorned with sugar roses, blossom and butterflies, and fresh or silk flowers. Wedding cakes can be stencilled and hand painted, or simply iced with satin ribbon and maybe a vintage brooch.

The Vintage theme for weddings is absolutely huge at the moment, soft muted pastel shades, pearls, lace, ribbons and old English garden flowers like peonies, roses and lily of the valley. The use of pretty vintage china at your reception can add another dimension and can be hired from a variety of companies. Think about your venue when deciding on the style of your wedding cake. A grand reception with ornate features and high ceilings deserves a statement cake which will be a stunning centrepiece. The height of a cake can be raised by incorporating false tiers or the use of beautiful and unusual seperators or stands. A small reception venue for a cosy and intimate gathering will be more befitting of a classic, simple wedding cake, perhaps on a pretty pillared cake stand.

A good wedding cake designer should always be able to provide sketches to give an impression of how your cake will look. We will do this for you, we can usually email a design sketch of your wedding cake with a quote within a couple of days. If you are then happy to proceed with us, we require a 50% deposit to secure the date of your wedding. This means that we can dedicate enough time to create the perfect wedding cake for you, and we only ever take one wedding cake booking on a particular day. We can arrange delivery and set-up of your wedding cake to any venue throughout the UK including Leeds, Wakefield, Manchester and the whole of the North of England.
